LVT Vs. Sheet Vinyl - Which to choose?
Vinyl flooring has come a long way since its humble beginnings since it became commercially viable after the war in the late 1940s. Today Vinyl is the go to option for many households and commercial properties alike. With a huge selection of colours, patterns, designs and textures Vinyl is an excellent choice for most.
Luxury Vinyl Tile / LVT
LVT comes in tiles or planks depending on the nature of the finish. These tiles or planks can tessellate in a variety of ways; staggered like brickwork, herringbone or parquet or can even be laid with a border or floor motif from one of the Amtico signature styles. LVT is very realistic in appearance with some surface textures even including the details of natural sawing or scraping which adds a further dimension of realism.
Reasons to choose vinyl
There are many reasons to choose vinyl as your next floor covering here are some reasons why:
- Resilient flooring - Vinyl is extremely hard-wearing and durable. Whether tile/plank or sheet.
- High performance material with further options of sound reduction backing
- Vinyl has come a long way with many options available in a wide range of finishes, textures, colours and styles.
- Vinyl is suitable for any room, even bathrooms and kitchens where moisture might cause a concern.
- Easy to clean.
If you want an affordable, easy to clean floor covering which will hold up against heavy traffic and moisture then Vinyl sheet is probably the way to go.
If however, you want a flooring finish which is a bit special, highly realistic, in a laying pattern of your choice, or with the added benefit of acoustic backing, then it really is worth the extra cost. Vinyl is an incredible material, and our Amtico tiles (which are made in Britain) even come with 25 years / 35 years / lifetime guarantee dependant on the range selected.
