Buy wool carpet and help keep our seas clean...
At last it feels as though there is a real global effort to highlight and bring to attention, the dangers facing the planet with waste and climate change now on the agenda.
While it is accepted that major political policies that force companies and manufacturers to produce goods in a more environmentally and sustainable way are the best way to make a larger, over-reaching change, there are small changes we can all make which provide an ethical and sustainable approach.
It has been widely known for a long time that wool biodegrades in soil, adding nutrients back to the earth. However, in more recent studies it has been shown that Wool also biodegrades in the ocean and water. Reducing the impact caused by microfibre and plastic pollution.
While this is not the answer to all issues regarding climate change and it's effects on the environment, it goes some way towards a future where we can reduce the impact we have on this planet. By using wool over synthetic materials we be safe in the knowledge that we aren't contributing to an already dire situation.
