In 1949, Iconic design couple Charles and Ray Eames developed a new system of free-standing storage which performed multiple functions and adhered to the principles of mass production. These pieces became known as the Eames Storage Units or ESU. The units are constructed from a complementary selection of coloured and finished surfaces which have been selected by Dutch designer Hella Jongerius. Giving this Bookcase a unique and contemporary look that still holds the charm of the original form. The ESU Bookcase can be used to display decorative objects and books, whilst concealing other items in the three draws and behind sliding doors.
